During 1984 – 1988 he studied at the University of Economics in Bratislava, Faculty of Commerce, Department of Internal Trade Economics. After graduation he worked as a scientist - researcher at the Research Institute of Tourism and Catering, later he worked as an independent credit officer at Všeobecná úverová banka.

In 1992, he joined the Department of Services and Tourism at the Faculty of Commerce, University of Economics in Bratislava, where he as an assistant professor gave lectures, led the seminars focused on tourism issues, supervised theses, and published papers in professional journals and anthologies. He is the author and co-author of several textbooks. He actively participates in scientific conferences, professional seminars, many scientific and research projects, he organizes the scientific events in cooperation with economic practice.

He worked as a lecturer of retraining courses, courses for tourist guides, at the University of the Third Age at the University of Economics, where he also organized several professional excursions for students. Since September 2021 he has worked as a lecturer at the University of Ss Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, the Institute of Management where are his lectures focused on tourism and hotel management.
