Learning objectives – expected outcomes for graduates of the Bachelor’s degree programme:

  • Graduates of the professionally oriented Bachelor’s degree programme in Project Management possess comprehensive knowledge of how economic entities operate: businesses, public sector organisations and non-profit organisations. They understand the economic system in its broader context, particularly the principles of macroeconomics, microeconomics, law and financial relationships that underpin the functioning of economic entities. They have a firm grasp of the fundamentals of business economics, marketing, management and human resources, and are able to apply this knowledge to the analysis and management of processes within businesses, public sector organisations and non-profit organisations. Through specialised modules, graduates acquire comprehensive knowledge of managing the entire project cycle, from preparation, planning and resource allocation through to monitoring time, costs, risks and quality (Introduction to Project Management). They master the principles and tools of project financing, including the preparation of project budgets and cash flows, and the rules governing drawdown and expenditure eligibility in both the public and business sectors (Programme and Project Financing). They are familiar with the procedures for drawing up business and innovation plans and translating them into economic and financial assessments, including the evaluation of costs, benefits and risks (Entrepreneurship and Innovation), and understand the mechanisms, structure and programme rules governing the funding of projects from European funds (European Programmes and Funds). They also acquire knowledge of the processes involved in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, particularly the monitoring of the fulfilment of activities, milestones, outputs and outcomes, including change management and reporting (Project Implementation and Monitoring). They master the principles of financial planning, budgeting and the evaluation of project effectiveness, including indicators of cost, benefits and return on investment (Financial Management of Projects). The practical focus of the study programme is ensured through the integration of the specialised modules ‘Semester Project I–III’ and ‘Professional Placement I, II’. Together with the compulsory module ‘Bachelor’s Project’, these form a coherent, application-oriented study pathway and enable students to progressively apply theoretical knowledge from macro- and microeconomics, management, finance and project management when tackling real-world project tasks in partner companies, public sector organisations and non-profit organisations. Graduates of the professionally oriented Project Management degree programme are proficient in the economic, managerial and legal principles of project management and understand the methodological frameworks of IPMA, PMI and PRINCE2, which they are able to apply and combine appropriately according to the needs of project practice in the corporate, public and non-profit sectors. These methodological frameworks are naturally integrated into practical teaching and are utilised primarily within the group of specialised subjects. The programme is distinctly practical in nature, simulates real-world project conditions and is based on the systematic use of digital project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Asana, ERP systems). The programme takes into account the IP-MA REG standards, thereby ensuring quality, up-to-date content and practical relevance in project-based education, as well as international comparability and recognition of the competences acquired in more than 70 countries. The principles of continuous professional development (CPD) are also integrated into the teaching, within which students acquire and record credit hours in both practice- and theory-oriented modules.
